Private Residence Dining Room
/Vanguard at Market
/Welcome to the Vanguard showroom at Market. Loving the gray velvet sofa with the pops of orange. It feels very masculine and modern.
These pieces would be perfect for an office or study.
You may remember this photo from our Annie Selke post. Aren't her pieces just a dream?
This chair is oh-so-comfortable! And isn't it pretty in that zebra print linen?
There's that pop of orange again! So happy and bright!
And what a sleek and sophisticated recliner right? Well, guess what! We have this one in the store right now in a lovely gray leather.
The photo of this dining table does not even do it justice! It is huge and so beautiful!
Million Dollar Decorators and Mary McDonald
/One of the great quotes from my new favorite TV show, Million Dollar Decorators. If you haven't seen it, well, then you are in luck - You can catch the last episode on Tuesday night on Bravo. It's the finale - so it promises to be a good one.
Aside from the great design work and behind-the-scenes madness that happens in our industry, you will come to know the work of Mary McDonald (Pictured on the far left). She is one of LA's most sought after designers. She's a "more is more" glamour gal and her work is full of vibrato! I totally dig her aesthetic. I haven't met a client yet that would let us do full-tilt Mary McDonald to their home but there are so many things we can take from her work and appreciate!
Notice that navy lamp... We carry that at the store!
A few Mary McDonald signatures:
- Painted wood floors - Graphic Patterns - Symmetry - Bold strokes - Layered, curated accessories - Saturated color combinations - Classically timeless silhouettes - Well-traveled
We carry her line of lamps and sconces introduced at the last market by Robert Abbey. Here are a few of our favorites:
{1. Ondine Wall Sconce - $463 | 2. Annika Table Lamp - $498 | 3. Directoire Table Lamp - $625 | 4. Spence Wall Sconce - $220 | 5. Leopold Wall Sconce - $700 | 6. Maximillian Table Lamp - $484 | 7. Ondine Table Lamp - $523}
Who is your favorite Million Dollar Decorator???

Oly Studio at Market
/Welcome to Oly Studio at Market!
Loving the pops of blue! Isn't the Diego console table stunning? We have one at the store and it is even more beautiful in person.
The pops of oranges and yellows with the popcorn pillows and carved mohair giraffe pillow really make these spaces feel warm.
Lilacs are lovely, soft and feminine. And added into the mix of Oly's furniture makes it all the more gorgeous.
The Cool Tones
/Loving these bold and tropical colors in the cooler tones. The bold colors provide a spark of excitement but the calming cool tones bring a relaxing feeling to the room as well. We were so inspired by this photo from this month's House Beautiful and couldn't pass up such a great opportunity to pull together of our favorite things in these cooler tones.

What's in Store - Zebra Print Chair
/Looking for a way to add pattern and color to your space? A zebra print chair will do the trick! A traditional black and white print will give the room an exotic yet earthy feel while adding a print with an unexpected color gives the room an exciting and modern twist! Isn't this room by Miss Annie Selke amazing? And those chairs... to die for! So if we combine the zebra print and those amazing chairs...
Then we come up with this lovely! The light blue pattern is subtle enough to work in most spaces yet bold enough to make a quite statement.
Annie Selke Ameba Chair 30.5"W x 38.5"D x 46"H $2,199
Inspiration in Unusual Places
/Inspiration can come from everything... We have focused on fashion before but inspiration is all around...Take these popsicles for instance. The beautiful limes, orange and berry coloring lined up in a white freezer. One may think, "Mmm... what a great treat on a hot summer's day." But next time, take a photo and use it as inspiration for coloring in your master bedroom. A stark white bed cover with some raspberry embroidering, adorned with plush velvet pillows to match and topped with a silk lime green pillow make this room pop.
Gold and black. This bike is such a showstopper! So why not use a showstopper for inspiration? Yellow walls with some lovely gold mohair for a lovely window seat. The coloring in this little nook is oh-so-inviting!
A day on the beach, clear blue ocean ahead and so many colorful umbrellas to provide a cool place to retreat. This light blue sofa with the geometric print pillows make this otherwise neutral room pop.

How-To: Create a Sunburst Mirror Wall
/Sunburst mirrors make a big statement, over an entryway console table, hanging above a tufted bed upholstered in mohair. Glamourous and interesting, these pieces can stand on their own. What about creating a gallery wall of sunburst mirrors? Talk about a statement! This look creates a traveled and collected feel to the room. Mix finishes to make the wall flow and not look so uniform. This will help bring that traveled and collected feeling, it won't look as though all of the mirrors were purchased in a set or at the same place. Adding different sizes into the mix is a must for balance. Use mirrors with different visual weight as well; some that are more open and some that are tighter and more dense.
